Dr. Mary Charalampous – Papamiltiades from Paphos district, graduated from Kykkos Senior High School of Paphos. She studied Physical Education and Gymnastics at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and then she acquired the following master degrees: MBA in Sport Management (Distinction) from University of Leicester (UK) and MSc in Sport Science from University of Leeds (UK). She also holds a PhD at Athletic Marketing from University of Loughborough (UK).
She used to be Assistant Professor at School of Management of the European University of Cyprus and Coordinator of the Academic Program “Athletic Management”. She was also Head of the Management School of Real Madrid in Cyprus. She used to also be a founding member of Cyprus Association of Sports Management (CY.A.S.M.), and she held the position of President of CY.A.S.M. for the years 2010-2012, while at the same time she was reelected President for the years 2016-2018. From February 2018 she is a member of the ICMG Cooperation & Development Committee. She is also Member of the European Association for Sport Management since 2006 up to today as well as member of the Hellenic Scientific Association for Sport Management and Recreation.
She drafted several studies/researches concerning sports management and the results thereof have been presented in many European and Global Conferences and these results were included in international bibliography. She is also a writer of books related to the sport governance in Cyprus which are included in international academic books (Sport Governance: International Case studies, O'Boyle & Bradbury, 2013, London: Routledge) and (Sport Governance in the world: A Socio-Historic Approach. Sobry (Ed.), 2011, Paris: Le Manuscript).
Dr. Mary Charalampous – Papamilitiades was candidate for the International Award of Best Researcher (NRA) at the International Conference organized by the European Association for Sport Management, in Aalborg, Denmark, in 2012. More over she was reviewer of research articles in international scientific journals.
She is married to Agamemnonas Papamiltiades and she is mother of two boys, Miltos and Antonios.
